Creating, Finding, and Assessing Instructional Video to Engage Students

Date : Tuesday, August 4, 2020
Time : 10:00 am–12:00 pm (EDT)
Audience: General Staff, Instructors

Instructional video allows for visually explaining information and assists in bringing contextually relevant examples to class. If instructor-created, it can allow for an increase in instructor presence in a variety of course modalities. Attendees will first explore when it is appropriate to incorporate video as the right modality for learning. The session will also include what video tools are available at Penn State and how to create targeted instructional videos that can be used to engage students. We will then pivot and focus on how to find high-quality instructional videos and give appropriate credit to the creator.
